All Creation

I gaze upon the ocean with her mighty roar, while above me the eagle does soar.
A crab, which is a work of Your Own Hands, is displayed for me upon the sands,
as I walk and think and pray, I give You thanks for every day.
Thanks for the sun that shines and the moon's fair light,
the trees that shade and the stars at night.
You made it all and called it good, in six short days, as only You could.
As I look around me and bless Your name, I must remember Your greatest acclaim,
the image of Yourself, created in others and me,
people, reflecting Your beauty for all to see.

Autumn arrived yesterday all aglow
Dressed in red, orange, brown and yellow

A pallet of color she held in her hand
and she used it to change the scape of my land.

A bounty of fruit she left in her wake
the abundance of which I could freely take

Color so vibrant brought my senses alive
Autumn! I am so glad you chose to arrive!

Dear Lord, teach me how to speak for You,and show me where to go.

Teach me what to say and when,that Your words I may sow.

Teach me in the morningthe words You'd have me say,

then give me grace to speak themto those I meet throughout my day.

A Word...

A Word...

A word came into my life today,
and it was totally brand new.
It caused me to stop and think
of what I was about to do

It made me realize
that words can change a life,
Their entrance can bring about
the beginning or ending to strife

Spoken in just a moment,
at the proper time and place,
a word can make a difference
of winning or losing a race

For good words are treasures,
golden nuggets received along the way
hold them close ,dearly,
for they can truly make your day

And then, when the time is right
choose to let those good words go
and right into the life of another
some goodness you will sow.

So, go ahead, make time for tea and cookies, and never regret the time you use;

For memories are made and dreams are built, in the quiet moments that you choose.

Accompanied by daffodils,
sway to and fro, their blooms to show
to the sound of the whippoorwills.

Robins sing to the tune of Spring,
as bunnies do their hop,
What a joyful time to be alive !

Spring is in the Air

Spring is in the air
It's scent is everywhere,

I smell it in the wind as it softly blows
I smell it in each flower, be it honeysuckle or rose

The birds seem to sense it too as they begin to build each nest
They are aware of a change, a stirring, a strange unrest

It's life ! It's here ! No time for sleep, winter's rest is gone
Awake, to Spring and all it brings, a freshness, a new dawn !

Another New Year...

Another New Year has come today.
I didn't ask for it , it just came my way,

As I awoke it beckoned to me,
"I'm NEW" it said. "Come see!"
"Come and look over all the new days I hold,
Some will be silver and some will be Gold!"

"Open your eyes, wake up and look!"
"A New Year is unfolding before you like a book"

I chose to obey and got up to see,
This wonderful thing being given to me!
The gift of a new day wrapped in a new year,
Mine to take, to use, the offer was clear.

A day of my life was to be exchanged for it
this New Year's new day, but what would I get?
The possibilities are endless, for everything's new
The choices are mine, I can make it rosy or blue.

I am choosing to take each new day this year
and treat it as though it were a gift so dear
I will slowly unwrap it , it's treasures to find,
Then share each blessing that comes to mind.
